Sri Lanka’s installed electricity generation capacity is targeted to increase nine-fold by 2050, with 15GW of wind energy and 16GW of solar energy making up the vast majority of the increased capacity. This presents a huge opportunity for energy storage, where capacity is increasing exponentially, with a record 10.4GW global pipeline in the first quarter of 2018 alone.
With ambitious growth expected for both behind-the-meter and utility-side-of-meter storage, and decreasing costs (Bloomberg New Energy Finance expects battery technology to fall to $120 per kWh by 2030, from $1,000 in 2010), energy storage could play a significant role in helping Sri Lanka achieve its target of meeting all electricity demand with renewable energy by 2050.
We’re bringing 20 years of expertise of running world class energy exhibitions around the world to Sri Lanka:
Debuting on 28–29 November 2018 we will be bringing 60+ exhibitors showcasing world-class energy storage solutions and technologies and 1,500+ attendees to Sri Lanka Exhibition & Convention Centre in Colombo, Sri Lanka.
Whether you’re looking at utility storage, C&I storage, microgrid solutions, hybrid PV-storage solutions, or simply evaluating the opportunity this could represent for your business, you should join us.
