Amadou Kane, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Energy Senegal

Amadou KANE was born on January 05, 1973 in Agnam Civol in the Matam region of Senegal. 
I am a doctor in physics specialized in solar, materials and systems with proven capabilities and strong expertise in energy storage, solar thermal power plants, solar habitats and renewable energies. I am a temporary UCAD and UADB responsible for the socio-economic aspects of energy, solar thermal power plants and energy storage. 
I am also a graduate of in-depth studies in physical chemistry applied to energy; I assessed the environmental impact of discharge waters in Senelec's energy production units using BOD5, cod, Kjeldahl nitrogen and suspended solids. I also studied water treatment in demineralized water stations. As a Electromécanicien design engineer, I studied technical losses in SENELEC distribution networks and proposed solutions to improve network quality. 
I hold a certificate of fitness for physical and chemical secondary education; I taught at the high school level. 
I had to manage the training and professional Development center of Senelec where I had in charge the elaboration of the workbooks, the organization of the training actions, the development and/or the adaptation of the staff. 
I led the capacity building project for the officers of the WAPP member companies (West African Power pool) for three years. 
I also hold a master's degree in physics and chemistry 
During 12 years of career at the commercial management, I participated in the updating of the business procedures, developed business practices made up of dashboards for the monitoring of performance indicators and as a trainer realized Staff training Documents 
I also have the implementation of the new Senelec rate grid in SIC in 2008. 
As a request management coordinator at the Permanent Secretariat for Energy, I am in charge of monitoring projects, the technical study of spontaneous offers in the energy sector and I am in contact with sub-regional bodies such as OMVS and OMVG in the field of hydroelectricity.
