Adaptix are transforming radiology by bringing mobile 3D X-ray to patients. The devices we are developing fire X-rays from different positions across a flat panel array of small X-ray emitters which enables 3D data to be derived using a technique called Digital Tomosynthesis (DT). These results provide more diagnostic accuracy than 2D imaging at a fraction of the dose received from a CT scanner. This will help patients and health-care professionals to get the best possible diagnostic imaging information, wherever and whenever it is needed. The panels much lighter and lower cost than current X-ray systems so could even be used outside hospitals in primary care settings or deployed in vehicles. For patients, this means a quicker and more accurate diagnosis when they are first seen by a doctor or paramedic. For healthcare professionals it means saving cost and time.
