What is virtual fieldwork, and how can you use it for deep learning and assessment?Join Chris Freeman and Pat Spiers from the NSW Environmental Education Centres (EECs) as they:
  • Introduce the extensive K-12 catalogue of virtual fieldwork and other online resources available from NSW EECs.
  • Discuss examples of how schools have programmed and assessed using these resources.
  • Share practical strategies for teachers and students who want to make their own virtual fieldwork.
  • Discuss challenges, solutions and opportunities such as differentiation needs, disrupted learning continuums, digital equity, cross-KLA integration and choosing success criteria.
  • FIND the right resources for your learning needs when you can’t go on an excursion or you want to add value to your excursion experience
  • UNDERSTAND what is virtual fieldwork and how to confidently integrate it into your programming and assessment.
  • LEARN how to plan, scope and sequence your own virtual fieldwork experiences
  • FIND OUT how teachers and students can easily integrate maps, text, timelines, data, photo albums, games, surveys, soundscapes, 360 photography, narration, documents and video using google sites.
  • GET HELP WITH identifying and articulating your programming needs to your friendly local Environmental Education Centre
