From 2 November 2020, Melissa Banks will join Austrade as Head of International Education. Melissa brings with her a rich background in international education spanning multiple education sectors over some thirty years. Melissa has held senior executive positions in several institutions, her most recent was as the Pro Vice Chancellor International at James Cook University. Over the course of her career she has contributed to a number of international research forums to advance the international education sector in Australia, including the most recent antecedent President of the International Education Association of Australia (IEAA). Melissa is a recipient of the prestigious award for Distinguished Contribution to the Field of International Education (IEAA) and was recently identified as a key influencer of change and innovation in the Australian Higher Education sector.
