Mark Savery, Microsoft Innovative Educator Expert, Microsoft Australia

Mark is the Head of eLearning (P-12) at Emmanuel College located on the Gold Coast, Queensland. He is also recognised as a Microsoft Innovative Expert Educator and an Australian Microsoft Fellow. He was awarded as a Hot List recipient 3 years in a row by the Educator Magazine in 2017-2019 for being an influential figure in the K-12 education space. With a background in primary teaching, Mark has a passion for pushing the boundaries and bringing innovation and engagement into the classroom through the use of technology. “I have a drive for innovation and creativity. I love exploring models of flipped classrooms, collaboration, utilising tools like AR and VR and bringing as much engagement as possible to ensure that learning is always fun!”

Playful learning is powerful learning as it bypasses student frustrations and incentivizes their willingness to take on new challenges. You don’t need to be a gamer or even very familiar to dive deeply with your students into creative and collaborative lessons across subjects and accessible across for all students.

Supporting social and emotional learning with Microsoft tools

This course will help to introduce you to social and emotional learning and give you practical ways to use Microsoft tools such as Minecraft and Flipgrid to augment and enhance this learning in your school.
