Louise Johnston, Deputy Principal: Learning Teaching Diversity, Christ the King School

In 2019, Louise was selected to participate in Melbourne Archdiocese Catholic Schools inaugural 'Leading Learning Innovation Immersion Program' which saw her travel to the USA and Canada to explore innovative best practice in a variety of areas of teaching and learning areas.  She is passionate about fostering learning equity, efficacy and engagement through constructivist models of learning, including Problem-based Learning and STEM.  Louise believes all students can reach their full potential when learning is challenging, relevant and fun!

Launch into Learning with a Probing Problem

  • Learn about the student-centred pedagogy approach of Problem-Based Learning.
  • Learn how to spark students’ interests and improve engagement in the area of STEM education by beginning with an authentic, contemporary real-world problem.
  • Learn how to integrate Thinking-Routines and place students at the centre of the Design Process.
