How remote working has changed the way we work securely

The education section, particularly higher education has been hard hit by the global pandemic. Last year, over 34,000 international students arrived in Australia to start degrees. In 2020 that number is now just 40. This has huge implications for funding various programs within universities. And at a time when cyberattacks have been on the increase, IT and security teams are most likely to feel the brunt of budget cuts, along with many other disciplines. The challenge however is double-edged. Not only is the lack of funding an issue, but with remote working now the norm, security teams are dealing with a multitude of endpoints now out in the open in an uncontrolled environment. This creates the need to rapidly redesign technology infrastructure whilst revisiting both risk appetite and security controls. We delve into the steps your education institution can take to ensure you’re resilient through the pandemic, including how you can keep your applications secure and gain greater clarity into risk, saving your staff time
