Discover the power of technology to provide educational impact by enhancing student engagement and the learning experience. Earn NESA registered PD (for select sessions) and receive resources for all stages and curriculum areas.

 

This channel is being delivered by teams from across the NSW Department of Education to provide quality professional learning for technology utilisation, innovation and engagement in teaching and learning, in line with the Schools Digital Strategy.

The NSW Department of Education is passionate about supporting teachers and leaders with professional learning to provide educational impact in the classroom, to engage learners and to prepare them for an increasingly digital future.

 

Designed specifically for NSW public school teachers, leaders and ICT support specialists, these sessions will inspire and equip you with new skills in technology for teaching and learning and enable whole of school transformation (please note educators from other jurisdictions will also benefit from attending).

A Staffroom State of Mind

How do you support a workforce of 80,000 teachers to pivot their teaching and learning overnight? The new MSTeams Statewide staffrooms was a response to the emerging needs of our teachers in a year of mass disruption. By utilising the features of this platform the Curriculum team was able to connect and support teachers in a collaborative and collegial space. Over 33,000 participants now exploreand share resources, access specialist advice and receive information with immediacy and flexibility. The platform represents innovative ways to build networks and support teachers, especially in times of need. Teams spaces are adaptive and carefully curated to provide a nuanced response to teachers and their diverse curriculum needs. The teams overcome the tyranny of distance welcoming teachers from all over the state to professional conversations. With connectivity also comes support, nurturing the wellbeing of our workforce. Statewide staffrooms aim to connect teachers with like-minded professionals to share best practice in a positive and safe environment. However, they are also an opportunity to share challenges and provide a network of support. Virtual staff meetings have facilitated connections between teachers and specialists from all over the state, to provide immediate responsive support to the issues and concerns that are most pertinent to them.WHY ATTEND?
