Prof. Voltaire G. Organo earned his doctorate in Chemistry (major in Organic Chemistry) at the University of Texas at Arlington, USA. He worked as a predoctoral research fellow at the National Cancer Institute, National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, Maryland, and as a postdoctoral research associate at the Chemistry Department, Tufts University in Medford, Massachusetts. Currently, Voltaire is a Professor in the Department of Physical Sciences and Mathematics, College of Arts and Sciences, University of the Philippines Manila, where he teaches general chemistry, analytical chemistry, organic chemistry, and instrumental analysis. He is also the president of the Philippine Association of Chemistry Teachers, Inc., and the vice president of the Philippine Federation of Chemistry Societies. He is a University of the Philippines Scientist 1 (2018-2023) and a One-UP Professorial Chair awardee. His research interests include colorimetric sensing, environmental chemistry, and chemical education.
