Vimallan Manokara is a registered Psychologist and registered supervisor for psychologists in Singapore who has been in practice for the last 9 years. He current professional appointment is the Head of the MINDS Institute of Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (MIIDD) which is the research and innovation arm of MINDS.
Aside from clinical practice, his role involves strategic planning, training and development, driving evidence-based practice as well as overseeing programme design, development and evaluation. He also holds appointments as chair of the Disability Coalition of Research and co-chair of the Agency for Integrated Care (AIC)’s Institutional Review Board (IRB) which reviews applied research in Singapore’s ILTC sector.
His present research interest areas include aging issues, quality of life, lifelong learning as well as employment for people with disabilities. He is currently pursuing his PhD (Medicine) with the University of Sydney.
