Ulla Hemminki-Reijonen, Director, MOOC Center & Project Lead (Global Campus), University of Helsinki

Ulla Hemminki-Reijonen holds a M.A. from the University of Helsinki and a M.Ed from Harvard University. She has worked in various tasks in the EdTech industry, e.g. authoring a guide on virtual reality for teachers and playing a crucial role in building an active EdTech community in Finland. She has collaborated with around 100 EdTech start-ups and helped them in product development. Currently, as the director of the MOOC Center at the University of Helsinki (mooc.fi) and as the project lead for the university-wide experimental EdTech project, she explores the possibilities to bring emerging technologies such as XR and AI into higher education. One of the on-going development projects of her team, Serendip, an AI-powered immersive sustainability learning environment, was nominated by UNESCO as one of the top XR solutions globally, and as one of the best virtual reality solutions for a cause in Europe (serendip.fi).
