Dr. Johannah SOO lectures Consumer Food Sciences in the National Institute of Education at the Nanyang Technological University. She has been in the teaching profession for more than 20 years, from secondary to tertiary levels, specialising in the field of behaviour in sustainable consumption, nutrition and food science education. She was awarded the Bee Nilson Award (University of Otago) and the Educational Research Association of Singapore (ERAS) Gold award for outstanding academic performance. Her training in psychological assessment and measurement from her Master of Education also brings expertise in attitude scale and questionnaire design. She is experienced with both quantitative and qualitative research methods. Johannah’s research interest includes understanding behaviours and attitudes of different segments of the populations and in turn provide pertinent information for curriculum designs and community interventions. She is currently involved in several research projects: Leadership in Education context, understanding attitudes and self-efficacy towards nutritional/health issues, and food security and resiliency, and 3D Food Printing.
