Dr Omer Yezdani is the Director, Planning and Strategic Management, and Chief Audit Executive at Australian Catholic University, and a member of the ACU Executive Board. His responsibilities include strategic planning, enterprise risk management, quality assurance, audit and reviews, business intelligence and performance analysis.
After completing a bachelor degree in Marketing, Omer commenced his career with a major ASX-listed technology firm. He went on to work in the Australian Government for over a decade leading national policy and portfolio areas in education, VET and Indigenous affairs. After completing a Master of Business Administration (MBA), Omer engaged in several high profile initiatives, as a Senior Advisor and State Program Director in the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet, and Department of Education, before moving into higher education with one of Australia’s leading digital universities.
Following two Excellence Awards, and a VC Scholarship Award to study in Latin America, Omer completed a PhD at Griffith University focused on strategic decision making in complex systems, and has lectured in Strategic Marketing and Management.
Omer is the former chair of the Australian Network of University Planners and a current member of the Higher Education Planners of Asia Association. Omer is passionate about education and multiculturalism, making a positive difference in the lives of others.
Omer is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD), and served the ACU Senate, Audit and Risk Committee, Academic Board, various Universities Australia committees and is a Non-Executive Director at the Eidos Institute Pty Ltd
