[M10] 5 Nov (AM) - Enhancing student success with experiential and inquiry-based learning

This workshop is tailored for educators and school administrators to delve into the transformative potential of experiential and inquiry-based learning through the lens of metaverse technology. Participants will explore how virtual environments can revolutionise teaching practices, making learning more immersive, interactive, and engaging.

This workshop will showcase how the metaverse can facilitate inquiry-based learning by having students ask questions, investigate, and construct their own understanding through exploration and discovery in virtual environments. 

Experience first-hand how immersive, engaging and interactive virtual environments enhance learning retention through the power of experiential learning. Capture your students' attention, sustain their interest, and make abstract concepts more concrete and memorable for them through simulations and real-world/make-believe scenarios. 

Additionally, the social and collaborative aspects of virtual environments will be demonstrated, showing how they facilitate peer learning and discussion. Gamification elements that motivate and reward students, further embedding knowledge and skills, will also be explored. These combined factors make the learning experience more impactful and easier to recall.

You will leave this workshop with the knowledge and tools to effectively integrate this technology into your teaching practices to enhance conceptual understanding and retention. Join us in demystifying the metaverse and making it friendly for educators.

Participants will:

• Gain a deep understanding of inquiry-based and experiential learning principles and their application within the metaverse
• Leverage metaverse technology to design inquiry-based and experiential learning experiences that align with curriculum objectives
• Create impactful and memorable learning experiences that capture students' interest and motivation, thereby reinforcing engagement, understanding, and knowledge retention
