Liam currently works at the Australian Independent School, Indonesia, as Director of Student Support Services. This requires him to work over three campuses, primary and senior in Jakarta and the new campus in Bali. Liam has lived and worked in education in Indonesia since 2003. Prior to that he taught in the Remote Teaching Service in Western Australia, working in a very remote and traditional aboriginal community in the central desert of Australia of less than 100 inhabitants. Liam moved directly from there to Jakarta with its densely packed population of 14 million. He developed a compelling interest in learning support education when he was teaching Year 2 and was attempting to understand why some students failed to learn to read.
