Dan Hartig is a music teacher from New York City. He is currently working in Singapore at the Canadian International School, where he teaches IB music, modern band and songwriting. Dan is passionate about using appropriate and engaging technology in the music classroom to spark student inquiry from a young age.
After completing his Master's in Music Education at Columbia University, Dan built the IB Primary Years music program at Pine Street School in New York City, where he taught for six years. Dan finds that music technology can be a great tool for students to develop skills in composition and sight reading. Many new music applications can also help students make interdisciplinary and real-world connections. Dan moved to Singapore in 2021 and currently teaches over 500 students at the CIS Lakeside Campus.
