Flint Inc.

Startup

Flint is a comprehensive AI platform built for schools. We offer teachers and admins insight and visibility over student usage of AI, and offer students a safe environment to make use of and learn best practices for using AI. We are FERPA-, COPPAp, and GDPR-compliant, and unlike most other AI platforms, we don’t use student data for training data, and we don’t plan to.
Unlike ChatGPT, which tends to give out the answer right away, Flint will ask the students questions and work with them step-by-step to help them come up with the answer on their own — just like a teaching assistant would. Our platform then provides in-depth feedback and analysis for both the student on an individual level and the teacher on how their entire class is doing — highlighting strengths, areas of improvement, and suggestions for a follow-up activity.
The platform provides the ability to upload custom content, uses precise math tools that ensure accuracy in calculations and formulae, searches the web directly from the interface, and completes answers with in-line citations from references that teachers upload to minimize hallucinations and increase the trustworthiness of responses from the AI. The platform offers a code editor, math formula editor, graphing support, and includes text-to-speech and speech-to-text functionalities. It supports 50 world languages, and is allowing students to practice speaking languages on a scale that would not be possible with only one teacher in a classroom.
