Hong Kong Association for Computer Education (HKACE)

Association Partner

History
The Hong Kong Association for Computer Education was established in late 1981 when the Education Bureau was planning a pilot program in Computer Education in secondary schools. A group of enthusiastic teachers organized and established The Hong Kong Association for Computer Education, to support and jointly promote Computer Education in Hong Kong.

We are recognized by the government as professionals in the Information Technology industry since 1997, being one of the accredited associations in the Functional Constituency (Technology and Innovation) of Legislative Council. We are also an approved charitable institution by the Inland Revenue Department since 2000.

Vision
Apart from promoting Computer Education, we pay close attention to the use of information technology in teaching and learning in various subjects, so as to improve teaching efficiency and learning effectiveness. We also support formulation and promotion of Hong Kong IT policies.

Membership
In addition to computer teachers, we are also joined by various subject teachers of primary and secondary schools, TSS and relevant groups of Education Bureau. Hundreds of primary and secondary schools have become our school members and hundreds of IT specialists have become individual members at present.
