Alinda has been teaching in Primary and Secondary schools for 44 years; 19 of these years managing K-12 school libraries.
 
Alinda initiated the use of Guided inquiry with teaching teams and students at her school, both Primary and Secondary, in 2008, and since then has been conducting Action Research to assist in changing pedagogy at her school.
 
This work was recognized with Alinda being awarded a NSW Quality Teaching Award in 2011 and then also the Australian School Library Association’s award of Australian Teacher Librarian of the Year in 2012.
