Aldred Dreyer is a digital broadcast specialist who started his career at Sentech investigating digital terrestrial television and compression technologies. This resulted in the first DTT test transmissions in 2001 and the recommendation of DTT standards through SADIBA. At the SABC he continued to work on DTT where the key achievement was the DTT trial in 2009 and the recommendation of a decoder middleware standard for South Africa.
As the CTO at the Namibian Broadcasting Corporation his main role is the implementation of DTT. Aldred holds a B-TECH - Electrical Engineering, is registered with ECSA and is a certificated PRINCE2 practitioner.
