Dr. Nima Barraci is since January 1st, 2021 Senior Manager Group Data Strategy & Transformation at Deutsche Lufthansa AG. In this function he is responsible for the implementation of the Group-wide Data Strategy, the Group Innovation strategy as well as for strategic projects and partnerships.
Nima began his professional career in 2004 as a research associate at Technische Universität Darmstadt, Germany. His focus areas were Air Traffic Management, Simulation and Flight Deck Automation. In 2009 he joined Jeppesen – a subsidiary of The Boeing Company – to work as a Human Factors Specialist in Boeing’s Digital Aviation research department. In 2012 he became Senior Researcher responsible for Flight Deck and Ground System Automation.
In 2015 Nima joined Lufthansa Technik AG where he was concerned with the setup of new organizations with focus on automation and digital services for aircraft maintenance, repair and overhaul. At Lufthansa Technik he was also responsible for research strategy and partnerships.
With his transition to a Group function in 2019 he became responsible for setting up strategic projects around digitalization and innovation with focus on automation and the alignment of the digitalization strategies of Lufthansa Group’s various business units. Since 2022 he is also concerned with the setup of the Group-wide innovation management.
Nima has a diploma degree in computer science and a doctorate in mechanical engineering with a focus on flight and control systems, both from Technische Universität Darmstadt.
