Philippe Mercier is the Singapore Innovation Station Manager within the Asia Pacific region of Alstom, effective November 2021. He is responsible for implementing the Group’s first Station, paving the way for scaling up mobility innovation around the world. Through such Stations, he promotes innovation both geographically and across various product lines, while bringing together various ecosystem players to collaborate on projects. Philippe has been based in Singapore for the last three years, heading the country’s communication-based train control (CBTC) Digital Twin projects for the Thomson-East Coast Line, the Circle Line and the North East Line. Prior to Singapore, he accumulated 13 years of experience with the Group, specialising in Signalling. Philippe started his career as Hardware Architect, before being promoted to Automatic Train Control Onboard Product Manager and subsequently Head of interchangeable CBTC projects in Paris (Lines 5 to 9, 11 and 16). Philippe graduated with a Master’s degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from Institut supérieur de l'électronique et du numérique France in 2001. In the final year, he underwent an exchange programme in Leeds University (England).
