Jayaram Naidu was appointed the Managing Director for Singapore & Malaysia cluster, and the Vice President for Alstom’s Services product line supporting Asia Pacific region in 2021, following the Group’s merger with Bombardier Transportation (BT). Currently based in Singapore, Jayaram is responsible for driving strategic growth and the overall business performance in Singapore and Malaysia. He concurrently supports operators in the Asia Pacific Region, with the task of ensuring the highest level of availability for their fleets, infrastructure and signalling systems. Jayaram’s career reflects pioneering experience of over 28 years in general management, strategic planning, sales and business development, as well as project management, achieving strategic growth objectives in reputed organisations across the mobility field. Jayaram joined BT in 2007 as Deputy Project Director for the London Underground project in the United Kingdom. He held several positions as Country Lead from 2012 before becoming Head of Sales, Marketing and Business Development for Asia Pacific in 2014. In 2017, Jayaram was appointed BT’s Vice President in Southeast Asia, responsible for the market’s business and projects. In 2018, he was in addition appointed Head of Fast-Growing Cities responsible for the global ecosystem business. He was promoted to Head of Project Management for Southeast Asia and Australia, as well as Head of Services for Southeast Asia in 2019 before becoming President of Southeast Asia shortly after in April 2020. Prior to joining BT, Jayaram assumed various roles in the Land Transport Authority of Singapore from 2001, including Senior Engineer for the rail installation integrity and Senior Project Manager for the fully automated, underground Circle Line. He began his career at SembCorp in 1993 before spending two years as Executive Vice President overseeing HollySys’s business in the Middle East and Asia Pacific. Jayaram holds a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from University of Kansas, USA. He is a CEng – Chartered Engineer from the Institute of Technology and Engineering, a fellow of the Institution of Engineers, as well as a certified Project Management Professional of the Project Management Institute.
