Dr Man Bui is a Senior Geotechnical Engineer and ISO/IEC 17025 Laboratory Manager with +25 years of experience across academia, research and industry. Based in Dubai, he leads the technical operations of an accredited geotechnical laboratory, specialising in advanced soil and rock testing, laboratory instrumentation, data interpretation and quality management.
His work focuses on understanding the behaviour of engineering materials through laboratory measurement and using experimental data to support computer simulation and engineering design. His international career has included technical roles with Fugro Geo-Consulting, Atkins and Amec Foster Wheeler in the UK, contributing to major offshore wind, nuclear and infrastructure projects.
Dr Bui holds a PhD in Civil Engineering from the University of Southampton and Master’s degrees from the Asian Institute of Technology and Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology. He is a regular reviewer for ICE Publishing journals and has authored more than 50 public expert columns in Vietnamese, sharing professional insights and international perspectives on engineering, technology and sustainable development.
