Julian Rhein, Research Associate, Technical University of Munich, Institute of Flight Systems

Julian Rhein received his M.Sc. in Aerospace Engineering from the Technical University Berlin in 2015 with the major fields flight control systems, flight mechanics and control engineering. In 2016 he joined the Institute of Flight Systems Dynamics at the Technical University of Munich for a Ph.D. with a focus on model-based safety assessment methods for aerospace safety assessment processes. Research topics include the application of formal methods for model-based safety assessment and the traceable integration of safety models with systems development environments. He also worked on the system architecture development for an unmanned ultralight helicopter that had its maiden flight in summer 2023. In 2021 he additionally joined the Munich-based eVTOL company eRC-System GmbH as a System Safety Engineer in part-time.
