Miles Morgan, Managing Director of Flight Training, United Airlines

Captain Miles Morgan is the Managing Director of Flight Training at United Airlines.  Miles oversees the pilot training programs, recruiting and hiring, maintenance and procurement of training devices, and the development and deployment of United’s long-term training model.  Before being hired at United in March 1995, Miles received a B.S. of Aeronautical Science from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach, Florida. After college, Miles stayed in Florida to flight instruct before moving on to Dolphin Express and then Atlantic Coast Airlines, where he flew BAE J32s under the United Express banner.    Miles started his United career as a B737 First Officer, and has flown as a B737, B757 and B767 First Officer. Miles has flown as a Captain on the A320, 737, B757, B767 aircraft, accumulating over 15,000 hours on United flight decks with almost 12,000 of those hours as a Captain. He served as a Line Check Pilot on the A320 fleet before moving on to the B737, where he was a B737 Line Check Pilot and QC Line Check Pilot in SFO. After more than 25 years on the line, Miles moved to Denver to serve as a Line Standards Manager on the B737 Fleet before transitioning  to the Senior Manager of Fleet Training – B737 position and eventually the Director – Flight Training Operations before being named the Managing Director of Flight Training in October 2023.
