Rebecca Buchanan is a Chartered Accountant with over 15 years of experience working at some of Australia's leading firms and banks. At a pivotal point in her career, she left her corporate role to launch Straight Up Bookkeeping, a virtual bookkeeping firm specialising in supporting purpose-driven businesses.

Now in its fifth year, Straight Up Bookkeeping has grown to a team of seven and is recognised as a leader in the industry, earning accolades such as Xero’s Bookkeeping Partner of the Year 2024. The firm is also proudly B Corp Certified, reflecting its commitment to sustainability and making a positive impact. Rebecca herself has been named Bookkeeper of the Year at the Accountants Daily Australian Accounting Awards and one of Ignition's Top 50 Women in Accounting in 2024. Straight Up Bookkeeping is also one of only a handful of Australia’s B Certified bookkeeping and accounting organisations. 

Through her mentoring programs, Rebecca helps other bookkeepers grow and scale their practices with confidence. Meanwhile, her podcast, Straight Up Small Business, and her bookkeeping firm empower small business owners to understand their numbers, embrace technology, and achieve their goals.
