Vaidehi Joshi is a Scientist in the Therapeutics team at Organovo Inc. She has a decade of research experience in academia and industry. She completed her undergraduate degree in Biotechnology from India. She further received a M.S. degree in Biomedical Engineering with specialization in biomaterials and tissue engineering from University of California Los Angeles. Her graduate work focused on vascular biology and blood vessel engineering as well as intestinal tissue regeneration. Following UCLA, she worked at Baxter Biosciences, where she had the opportunity to understand and be a part of a large-scale manufacturing plant.
She has been at Organovo since the last 7 years, where her primary focus has been 3D design and fabrication of various tissue types. Through these years she has been involved in a wide array of assay development, process improvements, tissue fabrication and analyses efforts; all aimed towards improving the 3D bioprinting platform. She continues to be actively involved in leading the animal-focused nonclinical studies aimed towards research and development of 3D bioprinted liver tissues for therapeutic applications. She has several publications in the field of tissue engineering.
