Innovation Hubs for Gene Therapies

The Innovation Hubs for Gene Therapies are a national network dedicated to advancing the clinical development of cutting-edge gene therapies. Specialising in clinical grade viral vector manufacturing and providing a dedicated resource for academic therapy developers, our expertise extends to offering translational support and regulatory guidance. Located at NHS Blood and Transplant in Bristol, the University of Sheffield, and King’s College London (in partnership with University College London and the Royal Free NHS Foundation Trust), our three Innovation Hubs are committed to smoothing the transition between small-scale supply for early clinical trials to larger-scale manufacture for patient trials, and beyond.

The Innovation Hubs are committed to driving the development of innovative new platforms and processes to keep the UK’s gene therapy research infrastructure at the cutting edge. We offer a range of platform technologies for producing and purifying lentiviral, retroviral, and adeno-associated viral vectors, and welcome technology transfer of alternative methods based on clients’ needs. We also offer non-GMP vector manufacturing to support developers at pre-clinical stages
