Capricorn Scientific is an ISO-certified German manufacturer of cell culture products, including sera, media, and reagents. We specialize in the production of chemically defined, high-quality products for various applications in biotechnology, diagnostics, and research.

Our 1,350 m² state-of-the-art, cGMP-compliant production facility, established in 2022 features 350 m² of dedicated cleanroom space. To ensure the highest standards of quality and safety, our facility is designed with strict spatial separation between products containing animal components and chemically defined media. The upper production area is dedicated to processing animal-derived products, such as fetal bovine serum (FBS), while the lower level is reserved for chemically defined media, effectively eliminating the risk of cross-contamination.

Our chemically defined media are highly specialized for upstream processing and tailored for recombinant production in various cell types, including CHO, HEK, Vero, and hybridoma cells. We offer liquid production with bulk volumes of up to 2,000 L and powder formulations corresponding to batch sizes of up to 30,000 L.

To maintain the highest quality standards, we employ rigorous testing procedures and comprehensive traceability systems, ensuring reproducible product performance. Our facility operates under cGMP compliance and features an integrated WFI (Water for Injection) system to meet the most stringent purity and regulatory requirements.

Established in 2016, our headquarters and production facility are located in Ebsdorfergrund, close to the Frankfurt am Main Airport (FRA). This gives us the opportunity to work with different partners and deliver with short lead times, all around the world!
