Sheetij Dutta leads the Structural Vaccinology Laboratory, Biologics Research and Development Branch at the Center for Infectious Disease Research, Walter Reed Army Institute of Research (WRAIR). SVL is engaged in discovery and development of vaccine and biologics against parasitic, bacterial and viral diseases. With a background in molecular biology and animal models for malaria, Sheetij joined WRAIR in 1998 and has since remained committed to rational design of cost effective antigens and adjuvanted formulations. Sheetij has end-to-end experience in translating vaccine concepts to cGMP grade products that have been safely evaluated in several Phase 1/II clinical trials in the USA and Africa. Sheetij holds a Masters’ degree in Biotechnology from University of Pune (India) and a doctorate in Biochemistry from University of Lucknow (India).
