Dr. Honigmann is the founder and CEO of AmerStem Inc., based in Camarillo, CA. She has decades of experience leading diverse teams of scientists and technical experts in biotechnology and vertical farming.
During the early months of the 2020 SARS-CoV-2 pandemic, she and her colleagues embarked on developing a new source of Quillaja saponaria and QS-21, natural and essential ingredients for vaccine adjuvant formulations. Utilizing Controlled Environment Agriculture (CEA) technologies in a clean, vertical indoor setting, they successfully cultivated Q. saponaria plants.
After years of development, she now oversees the company’s new large-scale facility for continuous GMP-grade QS-21 production, ensuring a reliable supply for the vaccine industry.
