Dr. Divangahi is an internationally renowned pulmonary immunologist whose overarching research focus is to investigate the regulatory mechanisms involved in innate and adaptive immunity to pulmonary pandemic infectious diseases and to broadly understand critical differences between protective and deleterious immune responses. His recent discoveries identifying the cellular and molecular mechanisms underlying "innate memory" (trained immunity) and utilizing hematopoietic stem cells (HSCs) to generate trained immunity have transformed our understanding of the field and layed the groundwork for developing novel host-directed immunotherapies and vaccines.
- Evidence supporting trained organ immunity- Use as a strategy for imprinting immunity for short periods before conventional vaccines come into play- What are the steps towards translating these findings? – perspectives from industry and regulators- Challenges of translating this into practicality of manufacturing? Manu of ASO1B adjuvant? And live vaccines. 100m of people..
