Luciana has spent more than 15 years implementing global health and supply chain programs and leading data monitoring and evaluation efforts. With experience in the US, Europe and 16 countries in Africa, her work has focused on conducting new primary research and supporting the integration of innovative technologies in resource-limited settings to accelerate health, social and economic outcomes.

Luciana has served as a monitoring and evaluation advisor to VillageReach country teams on 15 community health, supply chain and digital health projects, as well as managed two impact evaluations. She has also been at the center of project management and evaluations for the organization’s medical drone programs in Malawi, Mozambique, the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and Central African Republic – with drone programs now being integrated into the national health supply chains of Malawi and DRC. In late 2020, she started leading the fundraising and program strategy for Ride Sharing, a ground transportation solution for time-sensitive and cold chain health products using certified drivers.

Prior to her time at VillageReach, Luciana worked for the Institute of Human Virology (IHV) at the University of Maryland School of Medicine, Management Sciences for Health (MSH), the USAID Mission for Guinea and Sierra Leone, the International Partnership for Microbicides (IPM) and CIGNA Corporation.

Luciana holds a Masters in International Relations, with a focus on Global Development Policy, from the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs at Syracuse University. She also received a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics, and French and Italian Literature from Hamilton College.
