Dr. Lucas Tina serves as Board Chairman and Lead Principal Investigator at VIBRI in Kenya, and as a leading Clinical Research Scientist at KEMRI-WRP. He is the Director and a Scientific Advisor for ACE Research, and a Scientific Advisory Expert for FHI Clinical. Dr. Tina earned his Medical Degree from Moi University School of Medicine, and his MSc in Public Health in Developing Countries from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. He has led and contributed to successful clinical trials focused on malaria, HIV, TB, pneumonia, polio, sickle cell disease, diarrhea, Ebola and malnutrition. Dr. Tina is currently the PI for a CEPI-funded, Phase 2b COVID-19 vaccine trial in Kenya, Rwanda and the DRC and a trial of the RTS,S/AS01 Malaria Vaccine in combination with antimalarials. He is the recipient of several awards, including the Charles C. Shepard Award and the Brian Sharp Award.
