Dr. Kevin Russell is currently Section Head, Pediatric Vaccines, Global Clinical Development, at Merck Research Laboratories in Upper Gwynedd PA, after serving as Section Head for the Adult and Adolescent Vaccines Section from 2016 to 2022.  Before September 2016, Dr. Russell served as the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Country Director in Bangladesh.  Kevin is a Preventive Medicine physician with a Master’s in Tropical Medicine and Hygiene.  His career has been diverse with experience in vaccine clinical trials, global public health, basic and applied research, global infectious disease surveillance, and global capacity building.  Much of this was as an Active-Duty research physician within the US Navy; he retired from the Navy after 25 years of service in July 2015.  He has over 100 peer-reviewed publications and is a member of the American Society for Tropical Medicine and a fellow of the Infectious Disease Society of America.
