Dr. Hagen Richter joined WACKER in 2016 and currently serves as Director of Nucleic Acid Research with the WACKER central R&D hub in Munich, Germany. This team of approximately 30 scientific and technical experts focuses on research innovations and both academic and industry partnerships to advance Wacker Biotech’s capabilities in advanced therapy and mRNA vaccine process development and manufacturing.
Dr. Richter holds a Ph.D. in Molecular Biology and a Master of Science in Biotechnology. He was a Postdoctoral Fellow with Prof. Dr. Emmanuelle Charpentier at the Max-Planck Institute of Infection Biology and Helmholtz Center for Infection Research. He has co-authored 14 peer-reviewed scientific publications. His academic research has focused on small regulatory RNAs in pathogenesis of Yersinia pseudotuberculosis, DNA replication in Saccharomyces cerevisiae, and CRISPR RNA maturation in Methanoccus maripaludis and Francisella novicida.
