Graduated in medicine from the Pontifical Catholic University of São Paulo in São Paulo, Fernanda did a medical residency in neurology and a master's degree from the Federal University of São Paulo (Unifesp). She has 18 years of experience in healthcare and 12 years in the pharmaceutical industry. She previously served as a consultant and medical manager at Pfizer and was director of clinical research and later director of evidence data for Latin America and Canada at Novartis. She began her career at the Butantan Foundation in March 2022 in the area of Materia Medica.
