David Nees, VP Business Development, eEnzyme

David has over 18 years of experience in biomedical and basic research, as well as 18 years in the biotech industry. He co-founded eEnzyme in 2004 before exploring new opportunities in 2005. After initially returning to research, he transitioned into sales, holding positions at Life Technologies and later Cellectis Bioresearch, where he worked directly with scientists as customers. This experience gave him invaluable insights into the broader scientific market and its evolving needs.

David rejoined eEnzyme in 2014, first as a consultant and later as Vice President of Business Development, while also contributing as a scientist. His expertise strengthens eEnzyme’s capabilities in developing new products and advancing critical technologies for the scientific community.

David pursued his PhD at the University of California, Santa Barbara, and earned his MA at Rice University. He later conducted postdoctoral research at the National Eye Institute (NEI) and the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke (NINDS). His diverse experience across various sectors of biological and medical research provides him with a unique perspective.
