Chadia Wannous, One Health Global Coordinator, WOAH

Dr. Wannous is the One Health Global Coordinator and Senior Specialist for the World Organisation for Animal Health (WOAH) focusing on preventing pandemics through One Health initiatives, including on zoonotic and vector borne diseases, AMR, and integrating the environment in the One Health approach.

Before joining WOAH, Dr. Wannous worked in the UN System for more than a decade on health emergencies prevention, preparedness and response at the animal, human and environment interfaces, including serving as the Senior Policy Advisor to the UN Special Envoy on Ebola response in West Africa and to the UN System Influenza Coordination.

Dr. Wannous coordinated the Toward a Safer World Network for Pandemic Preparedness and the health components of the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction and led its Science and Technology Partnership.

Dr. Wannous is a public health professional with a PhD in International Health and Development.
