Camille (Pope) Campbell, Senior Director, Health Equity, Acclinate

Camille Campbell, PharmD, RPh (formerly Camille Pope) is the Senior Director of Health Equity and former Chief Medical Lead at Acclinate. Acclinate leverages community engagement and trust-enabling technology to empower communities to take actions for better health and improve representation in clinical research. Camille uses her 17+ years of pharmaceutical industry experience to develop Acclinate’s health equity strategy and lead medical communications between Black and Brown community members, research sites, and pharmaceutical industry/healthcare partners. She also contributes strategic market intelligence to help further develop the company’s platforms and services.

Prior to joining Acclinate, excelled in Medical Affairs roles at various pharmaceutical companies. She was a US Medical Oncology Lead at AstraZeneca (AZ), where she launched several new indications, collaborated with cross-functional teams to execute medical strategies across multiple tumor types, and engaged scientific experts to generate data that filled key clinical evidence gaps. She was also a Senior Medical Science Liaison at Abbvie, where she served as clinical expert and primary communicator of Abbvie’s Hepatitis C/HIV data to healthcare providers in the Washington DC/Baltimore region and provided research support to local institutions conducting trials with Abbvie’s medicines. Additionally, she gained early career experience in Scientific Publications.

Camille is purposeful about fostering diverse talent and striving for health equity through inclusive research. She established AZ’s US Medical Oncology Inclusion & Diversity Talent Workstream, which created new initiatives, like the AZ-Howard University PharmD/PhD Fellowship and Tom Joyner Foundation “AZ Scholars” Program, to help students attending historically black colleges and universities (HBCUs) gain experience in pharmaceutical industry. She also served on the Industry Pharmacist Organization (IPhO) Diversity Team and is an active member of the National Pharmaceutical Association (NPhA) and Young Black Pharma (YBP). At Acclinate, she continues to champion mission-driven projects focused on bringing clinical trial opportunities to communities that have been historically underrepresented in biomedical research and has presented her team’s efforts at various conferences (e.g., Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation’s Health Equity Symposium and National Pharmaceutical Association’s Annual Convention) and in publications (e.g., DIA Global Forum Magazine). Camille has also shared her expertise on numerous podcasts and webinars, and has been recognized by the National Minority Quality Forum (NMQF) as a “Top 40 Under 40 Leader in Minority Health” and by YBP for "Cultivating and Mentoring Talent."

Camille earned her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Florida Agricultural & Mechanical University and completed a Post-Doctoral Medical Strategy Fellowship with Bristol-Myers Squibb/Rutgers Institute for Pharmaceutical Industry Fellowships.
