Dr Alexander R. Precioso is a pediatric physician and vaccinologist who trained in the University of São Paulo-Brazil, the Children´s Hospital of Philadelphia, University of Pennsylvania – USA, and Maastricht University, The Netherlands.
Dr. Alexander Precioso has been researcher associated to the Pediatrics Department of the Medical School of University of São Paulo since 1999 and Director of the Division of Clinical Trials and Pharmacovigilance at Instituto Butantan since 2009. He has been involved in the design, coordination and management of clinical trials from Phase I to Phase IV and pharmacovigilance activities of vaccines manufactured by Instituto Butantan, Brazil.
Dr Precioso is currently member of The Advisory Permanent Committee on Immunization of Secretariat of Health of Sao Paulo State-Brazil, member of The Reference Committee on Infectious Diseases of Secretariat of Health of Sao Paulo State-Brazil, vice-president of the executive committee of the Developing Countries Vaccine Manufacturers Network-DCVMN and member of the Scientific Organizing Committee (SoC) of the Global Vaccine and Immunization Research Fórum (GVIRF). Former member of the ethics committee at the Nurse School of University of Sao Paulo and at The Municipality Health Secretariat of Sao Paulo State, Brazil. He has represented Instituto Butantan at the WHO for dengue and seasonal and potential influenza vaccines clinical trials. He has peer reviewed publications on rotavirus, influenza, and dengue vaccines.
