Based at Boston Children’s Hospital, the Precision Vaccines Program (PVP) is an academic research program discovering and developing the next generation of vaccines tailored to vulnerable populations. The PVP team conducts basic and translational research to develop novel vaccines and therapeutics for diseases that especially affect vulnerable populations such as infants, older adults, immunocompromised populations and/or those with chronic disease. PVP employs innovative approaches to accomplish including, human in vitro modeling, systems biology, discovery and development of adjuvants, small molecules and other immunomodulators, and use of big data/global molecular/OMIC approaches to characterize molecular signatures for vaccine correlates of protection. Through the Precision Vaccines Network, the PVP fosters international collaboration among academia, government and industry to achieve its mission and advance technologies.
