Dr. Brooks received his PhD in Microbiology/Immunology from Wake Forest University where he studied the molecular and cellular aspects of Interleukin-1 signal transduction. He completed post-doctoral training in the laboratory of Nobel Laureate Peter C. Doherty PhD at St Jude Children’s Research Hospital, where he investigated the cellular and molecular mechanisms of viral immunity. Dr. Brooks then joined BD where he has held multiple R&D leadership roles and responsibilities in the areas of inter- and intra-cellular signaling, cell biology/cell culture, and media development. He is currently R&D Manager for BD Advanced Bioprocessing. In this role, he is responsible for global media optimization services and new product and technology development. Combining extensive experience and expertise with innovative tools and technologies, his team is focused on the design and development of high performance cell culture media and supplements to deliver bioprocessing solutions that enhance performance, reduce risk, and increase speed to market.
