Dr Glen Gifford, Chargé de mission, Oie (World Organisation For Animal Health)

Dr. Glen Gifford is employed at the World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE) in Paris, France, where he works as a Chargé de mission in the Science and New Technologies Department. His main responsibilities at the OIE involve contributing to the development and revision of OIE technical standards for vaccines and other animal health products, which are published in the OIE Manual of Diagnostic Tests and Vaccines for Terrestrial Animals and related publications. He also serves as an OIE representative on external working groups and advisory committees, and participates in scientific/regulatory meetings to network with experts, learn about new scientific advances,  and provide stakeholder input into topics such as prioritization of vaccine research and development, and science-based regulation of animal health products. Prior to joining the OIE on a secondment, he was National Manager of the Canadian Centre for Veterinary Biologics in Ottawa, Canada, which is a government agency that regulates vaccines, antibody products, and diagnostic test kits in Canada.
