Dr. Brander has been studying cellular immunity to different viral infections, including HIV, HCV and tumorigenic human herpesviruses, such as EBV and KSHV. He has published more than 250 peer-reviewed articles, many focusing on properties of viral-epitope specific T cells and how T cell receptor repertoires impact virus control. He is the deputy Editor of the Journal of Translational Medicine, a curator of the Los Alamos National Laboratory HIV database and the scientific director of the Catalan Program for HIV vaccine development.
