my short story published by rare magazine MANZI NDAMUKUNZE, born 31st May 1976, a father of 3 children, one of them is affected by a rare disease. Manzi Ndamukunze is a notable figure in both the microfinance sector and the advocacy for rare diseases. Based in Rwanda, he has extensive experience as a consultant and trainer in microfinance. Since 2017, he has been a Microfact trainer (for financial performance analysis) and a certified Microvision (financial projections) consultant since 2018. His expertise includes business planning, financial accounting, loans management, operations risk management, governance, key performance indicators (KPIs) for microfinance institutions, and he works across the world especially in Africa. In addition to his professional work in finance, Manzi Ndamukunze is deeply involved in advocacy for rare diseases. Following his son’s diagnosis with Williams syndrome, a rare genetic disorder, he founded the Centre-Alliance in Kigali, Rwanda. This organization focuses on raising awareness and supporting families affected by rare diseases. His work in this area includes being a member of the different international organisations: International Patient Organisation for Primary Immunodeficiencies (IPOPI), Rare diseases International (RDI), International Rare Diseases Research Consortium (IRDiRC); these highlighting his commitment to this cause Manzi's dual roles in both finance and health advocacy illustrate his dedication to empowering communities through both economic development and healthcare support.
