Elena Lungu, Manager of Policy Development, Government of Canada (Canada)

With both public and private sector experience, Elena Lungu is an expert in the area of pharmaceutical policy, pricing and reimbursement in Canada. Currently, she is the Manager of Policy Development with the Patented Medicine Prices Review Board (PMPRB) and in this role, she coordinates the development of strategic policy advice related to price regulation. Previously, Elena served for a decade as the Manager of the National Prescription Drug Utilization Information System (NPDUIS) of the PMPRB, building this initiative into a leader in economic analyses related to price, utilization and cost trends in support of policy decisions in Canada. Prior to her career in the public service, Elena held various management and senior economist positions in private consulting related to market access as well as public and private payer markets. Elena holds a Masters of Arts in Economics from Carleton University and has 16 years of pharmaceutical market experience.
