Sanofi R&D

Saskia Villinger, Scientist, Formulation And Process Development, Sanofi R&D

Saskia Villinger got her diploma in biochemistry at the University of Frankfurt. She completed her doctoral degree and a post-doc at the Max-Planck-Institute for Biophysical Chemistry in Göttingen. During this period she studied structure, dynamics and interactions of a membrane protein by solution NMR, and her work resulted in several peer-reviewed publications. In 2013 she joined the BioStructure and Biophysics group at Integrated Drug Discovery in Sanofi R&D in Paris. As a post-doc she implemented state-of-the-art biophysical techniques, notably MST and nanoDSF, for the characterization of biomolecular interactions of therapeutic targets. She then obtained a permanent position as a research scientist in the group, where she was responsible for MST and nanoDSF studies to support the lead discovery for various challenging protein targets. In 2018 she joined the Formulation & Process Development group at Biologics Drug Product Development in Sanofi, where she is responsible for the formulation development of biologics and implements new biophysical and analytical techniques and applications to the biologics formulation development.
